How Do We Discover Faith?

Sep 8th, 2008 by admin | 0

Many people for centuries have gone to distance places to encounter and experience faith. I know many people who struggle with the question “what is faith?”
Trying to come up with a definitive explanation of faith was not at all difficult in the deafening silence of the morning. I was forced to listen. Faith is simple yet profound.
It is a walk into an unknown place. A step into the field of possibilities. In our dance with faith we surrender ourselves to a greater power that is the center of our existence. I recently learnt that in uncertainty we will find the freedom to create anything. Living in one of the poorest cities in the richest state has certainly caused me to realize this. I am suddenly made aware that I am no longer taking baby steps in my faith journey but adolescent creeps as I keep venturing into the unknown. This element is not visible to many people as faith but it is. There are still many miles to go but that is the beauty of the faith journey we are stretched each time we take a walk further into the unknown- it is a continuous process.
I have come to view faith from different people’s perspectives, encounters, faith and religious journeys. My new found ideology is that we experience faith daily through nature, people, relationships, children, cries, laughter, happiness, sorrow, joy, sick, lonely, the oppressed, marginalized, truth, justice, triumph and love.
How have you grown in your faith journey?
Have you been able to define faith?
How do other religious perspectives in faith impact your growth?
How can we challenge others lovingly to take a bigger step in their faith walk?
What has been your biggest challenge in your faith journey?
